[Verse 1]
You could buy me diamonds
You could buy me pearls
Take me on a cruise around the world
Baby, you know I'm worth it

Run my bubble bath
Make love tenderly to last, and last
Baby, you know I'm worth it

[Bridge]
Wanna' please; wanna' keep; wanna' treat your woman right?
Not just dough, but a show, that you know she's worth your time
You will lose, if you choose, to refuse to put her first
She will if she can find a man who knows her worth!
Mmmmmmmmm

[Chorus]
'Cause a real man knows a real woman
When he sees her (when he sees her)
And a real woman knows a real man
Ain't 'fraid to please her (please her)
And a real woman knows a real man always comes first (first)
And a real man just can't deny
A woman's worth (a woman's worth)

Mmmmmm hmmmmm, mmmmmm hmmmmm, mmmmmm hmmmmm, mmm

(Hold up)

[Verse 2]
If you treat me fairly
I'll give you all my goods...
Treat you like a real woman should
Baby, I know you're worth it
If you never play me
Promise not to bluff
I'll hold you down when sh*t gets rough
'Cause baby, I know you're worth it

[Bridge 2]
She rolls the mile; makes you smile,
All the while being true
Don't take for granted the passions that she has for you
You will lose, if you choose, to refuse to put her first
She will if she can find a man who knows her worth!
...Oh!

[Chorus]
'Cause a real man knows a real woman
When he sees her (when he sees her)
And a real woman knows a real man
Ain't 'fraid to please her (please me)
And a real woman knows a real man always comes first (first, baby)
And a real man just can't deny
A woman's worth

[Breakdown]
No need to read between the lines
Spell it out for you (spell it out for you)
Just hear this song
'Cause you can't go wrong when you value (better value...)
A woman's, woman's, woman's, woman's worth! (yeah)

[Chorus]
'Cause a real man knows a real woman
When he sees her (when he sees her)
And a real woman knows a real man
Ain't 'fraid to please her (please me)
And a real woman knows a real man always
comes first (first, baby)
And a real man just can't deny
A woman's worth (a woman's worth)

'Cause a real man knows a real woman
When he sees her (nothin' like a woman's worth)
And a real woman knows a real man
Ain't 'fraid to please her (ohhh, ooh)
And a real woman knows a real man always
comes first (comes first)
And a real man just can't deny
A woman's worth (a woman's worth)

Mmmmn hmmn
Dooooh
Mmmn hmmn
Suba duba do'h do'h
Mmmn hmmn
Doodle dee doodle dee
Mmmmn hmmn
Oohh
Mhmn hmmn
Better Cherish that woman
Mhmn hmmn
You better be good for that woman
Mhmn hmmn, mmmn hmmn
Ooooh yeah

Song facts

"A Woman's Worth" is a song by American singer–songwriter Alicia Keys. A piano-driven soul ballad with elements of contemporary R&B and neo soul, it was written by herself and musician Erika Rose and produced by Keys for her debut album, Songs in A Minor (2001).

The track was released as the album's second single in February 2002 following the worldwide success of her debut single the previous year, and became another top ten success for Keys in New Zealand and the United States, where it also reached number three on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The accompanying music video, directed by Chris Robinson, is a continuation of the "Fallin'" video and explored what happens when Keys' onscreen love interest gets released from prison and he tries to acclimate to society.

The clip was nominated for both Best R&B Video and Best Cinematography at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards, while the song won an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Song in the same year. At the 2002 Grammy Awards ceremony, Keys performed both "Fallin'" and a tango-influenced version of "A Woman's Worth."
