Biography: Stef Lang
Vancouver Island chanteuse Stef Lang's star is rapidly rising. Her debut album 'The Underdog' was nominated for Pop Recording of The Year at the 2011 Western Canadian Music Awards; her first single "Mr. Immature" rose to #5 on the Billboard Canadian Emerging Artist chart, and her follow up single, "Slave2Love" was the #1 most added song on Canadian Radio upon release. With a coveted S.L. Feldman Showcase at Canadian Music Week in Toronto, 2 nominations and a live performance at the 2011 Canadian Radio Music Awards (CHR and HOT AC) - Stef Lang is definitely a name you'll want to remember, and one you won't be able to forget.
Stef hails from Ladysmith, BC, a tiny Island town that she left at 17 to relocate to Vancouver to pursue her music career. Now, at the age of 23, her decision has proven correct: Stef has signed a publishing deal with Nettwerk One/Milk Music and released two EPs ("Birth", "Blood and Bravery"), a full-length album ("The Underdog"), and two iTunes singles ("Burn All Your Ships" and "What We Gonna Do"). Two of her songs ("Diamonds" and "Straitjacket", for those of you keeping score) have been featured on the critically acclaimed teen drama show Degrassi as well as the crime TV series Rookie Blue.
Stef's new single "Paper Doll" has hit radio airwaves on February 1st, 2012, followed shortly thereafter by the release of her new EP "Fighting Mirrors", available for free digital download on her website www.steflang.ca. Stef will be bringing her energetic live show to cities and towns across Canada in support of the new EP beginning March 29th.
Stef has showcased at The Canadian Music Cafe for TIFF (2009), NXNE Music Festival (2010) and was also featured at the 2010 CMJ Music Festival in New York. The future holds unlimited possibilities for Stef, with many more accolades to come.
