Release date: August 2008
"Plushgun" is Plushgun's debut EP released on August 19, 2008 through Tommy Boy Entertainment.
Conceived in an "overpriced and undersized bedroom" in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Daniel Ingala's band Plushgun has had quite a run. Their first self-titled EP, Plushgun is one of those inspiring stories of the digital era. Online word-of-mouth blessed Ingala with web-TV series interest, a #1 ranking on OurStage's Alternative Rock channel in January 2008 and, most impressively, secured him a spot on The Colbert Report. First created with only Ingala and a computer, Plushgun is yet another example of the new musical generation of technological whiz kids. With pulsing beats and catchy electronic hooks the four tracks on the EP are highly energized indie pop. The album is certainly nothing groundbreaking in an era of Hot Chip, Metro Station, and a dozen other bands, but the catchiness is hard to deny.
