Release date: September 2013
Trouble is the second studio album by English recording artist Natalia Kills, released on September 2, 2013, on Will.i.am Music Group, Cherrytree Records and KonLive with distribution handled by Interscope Records. The album was produced by longtime collaborator Jeff Bhasker, Emile Haynie and Glass John.
During an interview with Marie Claire, Kills explained why she chose Trouble as the album title: "I feel like trouble has followed me from the day I was born. I have this awful riches-to-rags childhood story: When I was born, my family had a lot, but by the time I was 11, my dad had been accused of being a criminal and we were visiting him in jail. The police took everything—all the cars, all the houses".
"I feel with this album… I'm confronting and marking down every bad thing, and making that into something important, because all that bad stuff, it stays with you, it defines you, it changes you. Whether it's through strength or apprehension, through fear and hesitation or defiance and overcoming, it never leaves you. And I wanted to confront who I am and who I've been and everything that made me why I am how I am head-on -- and most of it's bad, but that doesn't mean it's not good music, good intentions, good entertainment, even." - Natalia Kills, speaking to Billboard about Trouble.
