Save Rock And Roll
Album lyrics Fall Out Boy

Release date: April 2013

Save Rock And Roll is the fifth studio album by American pop punk band Fall Out Boy, released on April 16, 2013 through Island Records. It is the band's first studio album since coming out of a four-year hiatus, a follow-up to 2008's Folie à Deux.

The album was recorded in secrecy at Rubyred Recordings in Venice, California, beginning in the fall of 2012. The album sessions were marked by a desire to reinvent the band's sound in a more modern form, with more emphasis on pop music. The band brought in producer Butch Walker for a fresh approach, marking their first time without longtime producer Neal Avron. Save Rock and Roll features guest vocals from Foxes, Big Sean, Courtney Love, and Elton John (who sings on the album's title track).

The title was created as a tongue in cheek remark after Wentz envisioned album reviews that would sarcastically state the band "came back to save rock and roll." It was also partially inspired by the return of rock-based acts on contemporary hit radio, such as the success of recent Fun and Gotye singles.

Save Rock And Roll debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, with first week sales of 154,000 copies in the United States, earning the band their second career number one.
