Release date: March 2009
Carolina is the second album by American country music artist Eric Church. It was released on Capitol Records Nashville on March 24, 2009, three years after his debut Sinners Like Me.
Reflecting the restlessly creative character of its maker, Carolina is even more musically diverse than its illustrious predecessor. "I wanted Carolina to go to some different places," said Church. "The first album was more aggressive and moody. This one is more diverse, more musical and a little brighter. I hope people can at least hear that we're still taking chances."
As of the chart dated January 22, 2011, the album has sold 369,912 copies in the US.
"Love Your Love the Most" was released as the album's lead-off single. It entered the Top 40 on the country charts in April 2009, becoming his first Top 40 hit since "Guys Like Me" in early 2007, as well as his first Top Ten country hit peaking at #10 in October 2009. "Hell on the Heart" was released as the second single in October, and entered the Top 40 in November. "Smoke a Little Smoke" was released as the album's third single in June 2010.
